You might’ve come over from Ness or Sal’s instagram, in which case we are so thankful for your constant love and support. Otherwise, welcome! We are a family of thirteen living in England, and we are so excited to share this new project with you. It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time but haven’t, for fear that we lack the means or audience to make it worthwhile. Recently we’ve realised that both are of little consequence; there’s no time like the present, and we have a lot to share.
The past year has been our hardest yet, but if nothing else it has shown us our own resilience. We hope that one day we can share our story, but for now it’s one day at a time, as we focus on rebuilding and healing.
We see that our family and lifestyle is unique in a lot of ways, yet in others we are just like the majority of people. Squabbling over who gets to use the bathroom, scraping enough money for that next loaf of bread, and never agreeing on which TV channel to watch. All of these things are our reality, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We make an awesome team, and there is so much joy in our home. For us, this includes a full fruit bowl, a pile of fresh linen and enjoying tea and biscuits for breakfast on Sundays.
So, here we are. We’re working with one temperamental-at-best laptop between us, next to no knowledge about blogging and a few chaotic (but very creatively charged) minds. The Kids are Alright will be an outlet for us as a family, to share what we’re feeling, doing and loving. We’re excited to talk about everything from women’s rights and the education system, to our favourite designers and speedy meals. It’s a family project, so hopefully you’ll hear from each of us in the future. The goal is to remain transparent about our ups and downs, and to show people that nothing is insurmountable, especially when you remain grateful for the small things.
We’d love you to join us on our journey. This site is still incomplete so bear with us on that, but we were itching to get started! Check our FAQ for some more general info. Oh, and be sure to fill out the contact form below to let us know what you’d like to see from us in future.
Lots of love from all of us
